Team Stogner is not a marketing phrase. It is a description of how Brant and Jennifer Stogner actually practice: together, in the same building, on the same cases, with the same relentless preparation that has produced over $230 million in gross verdicts and settlements for catastrophically injured Texans and their families.

They met on the first day of law school. They won a national trial championship together before they were lawyers. They have spent nearly two decades building practices, a family, and a reputation as two of the most prepared and effective personal injury trial attorneys in Houston. When you hire Team Stogner, you are not hiring a name on a door. You are hiring two experienced trial lawyers who are invested in your case at a level that most firms cannot match.

Leadership You Can Trust

Where It Started : El Campo, Texas

Brant Stogner grew up in El Campo, a small town about an hour southwest of Houston, where he learned early that the only things worth doing are worth doing all the way. He was a standout athlete and student, earning a football scholarship to the University of Houston before transferring to Texas A&M after multiple knee surgeries ended his playing career. Rather than step back, he leaned in. He graduated in the top 10% of his class with a degree in Accounting, then enrolled at South Texas College of Law Houston with a clarity of purpose that defined everything that followed.

Jennifer O’Brien Stogner grew up in Corpus Christi, the daughter of an attorney. While other college students were studying theory, she was working as a legal secretary for her father’s firm, watching real clients navigate the legal system and understanding from a young age what was actually at stake when someone walked through a lawyer’s door. She graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a double major in Finance and Accounting, then followed her father’s path to South Texas College of Law Houston.

That is where they met, on the first day of law school in 2003. By 2006, they were the best trial team in the country.

In their final semester of law school, Brant and Jennifer won the Regional Championship in Dallas and the National Championship in Miami at the ATLA Student Trial Advocacy Competition. It was the first indication of what was coming.

From the Courtroom Out: How They Built Their Practice

Both Brant and Jennifer began their legal careers learning the side of the case that most personal injury attorneys never see. Brant spent two years at a Houston defense firm representing corporate defendants and insurance companies in civil litigation. Jennifer began her career on the plaintiff side but quickly moved into defense work as well, handling cases for individuals, small businesses, and large corporations. They did not do this by accident. They did it deliberately, because understanding how corporations and insurers defend serious injury cases is the most valuable preparation a plaintiff’s attorney can have.

Brant joined the plaintiff’s practice at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner in 2008, one of the oldest and most respected personal injury firms in Texas, and tried 12 cases to jury verdict in his first three years. He achieved Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2011, at the earliest possible eligibility, a distinction held by fewer than 2% of Texas attorneys. Jennifer joined the firm in 2018, bringing with her a practice that had already included representation in the BP Texas City explosion litigation, one of the most complex industrial disaster cases in Texas history. Together, they have co-tried some of the firm’s most significant catastrophic injury cases and have been recognized side by side for their results.

Today they lead Team Stogner, a litigation team within Abraham Watkins built around a simple operating principle: every case gets the preparation it deserves, every client gets the attention they were promised, and no case settles for less than it is worth simply because it was easier.

The Results That Define the Practice

Words on a website are easy. Results in the courtroom are not. The following gross verdicts and settlements, before deduction of attorney’s fees and litigation expenses, represent what Team Stogner has recovered for real clients in real cases. Past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any future case.

Brant Stogner secured a $65 million settlement for a client who suffered catastrophic electrical burns in a flooded building following Hurricane Harvey, requiring more than 20 surgeries over six years. It is the largest single-plaintiff settlement in the history of Abraham Watkins. He secured:

  • A $30,190,000 settlement after a jury found a petrochemical refinery 100% responsible for a catastrophic explosion
  • A $28 million settlement followed for a pipeline technician with spinal and brain injuries after a commercial vehicle collision
  • A $23 million aviation settlement resolved in the third week of trial after a pretrial offer of $4.5 million
  • A $22,707,000 jury verdict for a worker rendered quadriplegic after a fall of more than 20 feet was recognized by Verdict Search as the largest workplace safety verdict in Texas in 2009
  • A $18 million settlement was recovered for the family of a 5-year-old child who drowned at a Baytown apartment complex due to a defective pool gate
  • A $12 million settlement for a 6-year-old drowning at a Houston apartment complex

Jennifer Stogner has been recognized nationally for top-ranked settlement results across a wide range of case types, including premises liability, residential premises liability, drowning accidents, workplace accidents, burn injuries, motor vehicle collisions, and personal injury broadly. Her career began on the BP Texas City explosion litigation and has since included catastrophic cases involving refinery and petrochemical incidents, commercial vehicle collisions, construction site accidents, defective products, traumatic brain injuries, and wrongful death.

Across both practices, Team Stogner has recovered over $230 million in gross verdicts and settlements, before deduction of attorney’s fees and litigation expenses, for injured Texans and their families.

Could not have asked for a better law firm or attorney than Anita Creech and her team. After my accident, Anita turned a stressful situation into a clear, manageable process. She explained every step, what she needed from me, and what to expect at each milestone. She was responsive, thorough, and genuinely caring, while also being firm and strategic when it mattered most. I felt heard and prepared the entire way and never had to chase an update. Anita is that rare blend of empathetic advocate and sharp negotiator. I recommend her and her firm without hesitation.
